I am pleased to announce the opening of the Breathe Into Motion Yoga Studios and Conditioning Centre as of summer 2009. It had been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, and to see how the community has embraced the programs we offer is a reward that is hard to put into words. We continue to offer affordable services that promote healing and fitness in a safe format. When you join the studio you receive a learner centered education, whether you are enjoying the Breathe Into Motion Yoga System, the Surrender Into Stillness Yoga System or the Breathe Into Motion Strength and Conditioning Services.

Breathe Into Motion Yoga System


The Breathe Into Motion Yoga System is specially designed to help in injury recovery, and in its later stages, serves as a form of training to support athletic performance and increase fitness levels. The system allows those with injuries to recover over time, re-patterning movement mechanics and improving musculo-skeletal alignment in a step-by-step instructional process. As one progresses in their practice they are increasingly challenged with more difficult yoga postures further improving muscular core and stabilizer strength, flexibility and balance. Soon each class becomes an intense workout. Practice ends with a meditation ‘recharging the battery pack.’ You leave the class feeling energized, not drained, but you know you just did a ‘kick-butt’ workout.

Breathe Into Motion Yoga Level 1 Instructional (no prerequisite) B.I.M.Yoga Level 1 Instructional is dedicated to setting up the foundation necessary for more advanced yoga classes. Postural alignment is emphasized to set a precedent for future practice. Simple breathing techniques are taught for their application in movement mechanics during the transitions between yoga postures, as well as their application in controlling stretch sensations during the performance of yoga postures. This will provide you a with a strong basis from which more advanced yoga practice can be built. A focus on developing individual exercise prescriptions to help heal your injuries is a well-known attribute of the Breathe Into Motion Yoga System.

Breathe Into Motion Yoga Level 2 Instructional (prerequisite-Breathe Into Motion Yoga Level 1 Instructional) B.I.M.Yoga Level 2 Instructional is dedicated to increasing your fitness levels gradually. More advanced breathing techniques and yoga postures are added to your skill-set. This logical increase in intensity serves as the preparation necessary for your participation in either B.I.M.Yoga Level 2 Flow or B.I.M.Yoga Level 3 Instructional. B.I.M.Yoga Level 2 Instructional also serves as a prerequisite for Surrender Into Stillness Yoga System.

Breathe Into Motion Yoga Level 3 Instructional (prerequisite-Breathe Into Motion Yoga Level 2 Instructional) B.I.M.Yoga Level 3 Instructional is dedicated to learning more advanced yoga postures that will greatly enhance your muscular core strength and strength in the muscular stabilizers, ultimately improving your balance. Flexibility will increase dramatically as your progress through the B.I.M.Yoga Level 3 Instructional classes. The logical increase in intensity serves as the preparation necessary for your participation in either B.I.M.Yoga Level 3 Flow or B.I.M.Yoga Level 4 Instructional.

Breathe Into Motion Yoga Level 3 Flow (prerequisite-Breathe Into Motion Yoga Level 3 Instructional)
Lessons learned in B.I.M.Yoga Level 1 Instructional, B.I.M.Yoga Level 2 Instructional and B.I.M.Yoga Level 3 Instructional culminate here in the second B.I.M.Yoga Flow. Yoga postures and transitions set in a flow will help you to reinforce lessons learned previously through the repetition of the B.I.M.Yoga Level 3 pattern.

Breathe Into Motion Yoga Level 4 Instructional (prerequisite-Breathe Into Motion Yoga Level 3 Instructional) B.I.M.Yoga Level 4 Instructional is dedicated to providing an intensive yoga practice with the intention of building higher levels of core and stabilizer strength, flexibility and endurance. You will learn to maintain the body’s internal heat throughout the class, which will provide you with an accelerated progress in your practice. The new skills taught will serve as superb support for athletic performance and physical conditioning.

Breathe Into Motion Yoga Level 4 Flow (prerequisite-Breathe Into Motion Yoga Level 4 Instructional)
Lessons learned in B.I.M.Yoga Level 1 Instructional, B.I.M.Yoga Level 2 Instructional, B.I.M.Yoga Level 3 Instructional and B.I.M.Yoga Level 4 Instructional culminate here in the third B.I.M.Yoga Flow. Yoga postures and transitions set in a flow will help you to reinforce lessons learned previously through the repetition of the B.I.M.Yoga Level 4 pattern.

Wall Work Yoga Level 1 (prerequisite-Breathe Into Motion Yoga Level 1)
This unique class centers on yoga techniques using the wall for alignment purposes. Skills learned in the Breathe Into Motion Yoga System correspond directly with Wall Work Yoga. In each class, the development of alignment through the guidance of the wall as support, lends itself to a high degree of accuracy in the performance of yoga postures.






Surrender Into Stillness Yoga System

The Surrender Into Stillness Yoga System is specifically designed to provide better skeletal alignment with implications in improving athletic performance and overall health. In cases of joint injury or repetitive strain, connective tissues may become shortened through ‘contracture’ which leaves the joint less mobile. To reverse this, the Surrender Into Stillness Yoga System offers you a step-by-step instructional process to realign the body’s bones through changing the shape of connective tissues. As one progresses in their practice they are increasingly challenged with more difficult yoga postures, and these postures are held for longer periods of time. Once you have experienced the Surrender Into Stillness Yoga System you will understand its value in breaking through ‘flexibility plateaus’ due to restrictions in joint mobility.

Restorative Yoga Level 1 Instructional (no prerequisite)
Restorative Yoga Level 1 Instructional is restorative yoga dedicated to realigning the body’s skeletal system by stretching connective tissue in basic yoga postures. This preparatory stage sets down the groundwork for achieving comfort in postures that can be used for meditation. Allowing the body to relax into longer holds of gentle floor postures helps to create a level of comfort in meditation. This level also prepares the body for more advanced postures used in pranayama and meditation when graduating to the Restorative Yoga Level 2 Instructional.

Restorative Yoga Level 2 Instructional (prerequisite-Restorative Yoga Level 1 Instructional)
Restorative Yoga Level 2 Instructional is designed to deepen ranges of motion in preparation for long holds in more challenging meditative postures. The foundation built in Restorative Yoga Level 1 Instructional sets the stage for the introduction of poses that develop significant changes in the body. The focal point of Restorative Yoga Level 2 Instructional is progressively extending the time held in particular yoga postures.

Yin Yoga Level 1 Instructional (prerequisite-Breathe Into Motion Yoga Level 2 Instructional)
Yin Yoga Level 1 Instructional is dedicated to realigning the body’s skeletal system by stretching connective tissue in a unique set of intermediate yoga postures. This stage sets down the groundwork for deeper stretches practiced in more advanced Yin Yoga classes. Non-striving is emphasized so as not to impact muscle fibre, but instead, allowing the ‘plastic’ connective tissues to be moulded. The Yin Yoga system is a perfect compliment to the more advanced levels of the Breathe Into Motion Yoga System.

Yin Yoga Level 2 Instructional (prerequisite-Yin Yoga Level 1 Instructional)
Yin Yoga Level 2 Instructional is designed to deepen ranges of motion in more advanced yoga postures. The foundation built in Yin Yoga Level 1 Instructional sets the stage for the introduction of poses that develop significant changes in the body supporting athletic performance. Extending the time postures are held offers new mental and physical challenges.

Yin Yoga Level 1 Flow (prerequiste-Yin Yoga Level 1 Instructional)
Yin Yoga Level 1 Flow will reinforce lessons learned in Yin Yoga Level 1 Instructional. By practicing Yin Yoga poses in a circuit, the depth and duration of postures will be increased progressively. Familiarity with basic postures learned in Yin Yoga Level 1 Instructional is necessary to participate in the Yin Yoga Level 1 Flow program.




Enter Into Awareness Yoga System

Enter Into Awareness Yoga Meditation and Mudra Instructional (no prerequisite)
E.I.A.Yoga Meditation and Mudra Instructional is a sitting meditation. We explore ways of quieting the mind. Through techniques such as mudras and specific types of meditation we can bring more awareness to our yoga practice and our everyday lives. 50% of the cost of the program will be donated to ‘Tents for Haiti.’

Breathe Into Motion Strength and Conditioning Services (no prerequisite)
Breathe Into Motion Yoga is proud to present strength and conditioning services as a part of our health and fitness programming. This scientifically based approach to training involves special fitness testing and is run by experienced staff to ensure your safety. There is no need to be an "athlete" to take advantage of this program, as it is designed around you as an individual. The commitment of two people will be required and the partners will learn to work together. The cost is $40.00 per person for a total of $80.00 per session with a minimum of 5 sessions. This service is by appointment only. Please phone the studio for more details.
